Tundra seems to be in better spirits these last few days, in spite of the cone of shame.  He’s back to his old self.  He knows when it’s snack time.  He showed no interest at all in a new squeaky toy until his brother did and then it was suddenly his and Timber was left to just watch.  He rolled in the fresh snow today.  And of course, if he senses your attention is on something else, he’ll sneak in a licking session.  We continue our pill standoff – luckily we only have a few more days of antibiotics.  I am a little concerned that fluid might be building up in his shoulder.  Will probably have to have that checked on Monday.  He was supposed to start chemo on Monday, but the meds hadn’t  arrived as of last Friday.  We’ll have to wait until they get here.

  1. I know things are done differently in Alaska, but I was curious, are you going with the metronomics chemo? Is that what you mean by waiting for the pills to come?
I used to live in Sitka, but it was back when I was about 9 years old. My family is from Anchorage. I also spent a summer in Point Barrow.
How do you like Alaska? My husband and I often talk about moving there. Is it a puppy friendly place? What are the people like? Do you have to defend Tundra from bears and whatnot? I think we have another member here from Alaska, but not sure who it is…
Anyway, I am glad Tundra is doing so well, it is amazing how fast they can recover from such an intensive surgery! Great job Tundra and family,

    1. No we had to wait for carboplatin. Chemo’s not done too often in Juneau. But it arrived today and we are scheduled for round one tomorrow.
We love Alaska! We haven’t had a bear encounter with our dogs yet – just porcupines! I spent a couple years in Anchorage, but am happy in Juneau. I’ve been to Sitka and it is very beautiful.
      Thank you for your thoughts.

  2. great to hear you are doing so well Tundra! Cooper rolled in the fresh snow this morning, but not intentionally – it was his first time in snow since surgery 🙂
Hoping your chemo sessions go well when you get started ! we are all thinking of you and your family!
